Welcome to the first Ruth Weiss newsletter!
Ruth and her son Alex, Jacob Kaiser Parliament, Berlin, December 11th, 2019
I will be sending this newsletter out monthly and it will complement my new website. I hope it will be a great way to keep you all updated about our exciting progress.
I also have a new Facebook page so please feel free to Like and leave comments there too.
The RuthWeiss Gesellschaft (RW Society) is perhaps the most exciting update, supporting my efforts to oppose racism, antisemitism and prejudice in my lifetime and beyond.
I’m truly grateful for its hardworking committee: Gesche Karrenbrock, Konrad Kleyboldt, Lutz Kliche, Anni Kropf, Konrad Melchers, Peter Schrage-Aden and my offspring Alexander, my IT expert. Lutz Kliche has also facilitated appearances and readings at German schools and other venues, which is such an important way to personalize the message.
‘My Sister Sara’ in available on Amazon in English for the first time. It makes a thoughtful gift and its message resonates with our current political challenges.
Since my “retirement” from journalism in the 90s, I have had 18 books published in German but I haven’t stopped writing! I have an additional 47 unpublished texts – 45 fiction and 2 non-fiction. Of these 24 are both in German and English. I hope to continue translating others into English.
Twenty are Jewish historical fiction from the first to the twenty-first centuries. Eighteen are fiction with a political background and one non-fiction text is biographical, the second is set in the Netherlands during the Nazi era. Another seven are a crimes series, named Miss Moore.
My hope is to publish these manuscripts with the assistance of my friends.
My goal is to contribute to the understanding of social injustice and Jewish history, which may soften established prejudice. Prejudice, as you know, does not have boundaries.
I wish you good health in these Covid-19 days.
